STOP 2.0 is an application that allows the user to stop the desired bus in advance. It's intended to take into account also those with special needs waiting for transport.

WHEN THE ONE WAITING IS BLIND

How do the blind recognize the right bus in Länsiväylä during rush hour? Currently they don't.

In STOP 2.0 every stop has an iBeacon Bluetooth transmitter. The mobile application on a traveller's pocket recognizes the nearest bus stop via iBeacons Bluetooth. Then the application provides information about next departures from the stop.

After that it's easy to send a request for the driver of your chosen bus to pick you up.

WHEN THE ONE TRAVELLING IS A CHILD

Have you ever been worried about a child who is travelling on a bus alone? Currently, not all the buses have info screens indicating the name of the next stop.

When using STOP 2.0 there is no need to panic. The application shows the approaching stop and the child has plenty of time to indicate that they wish to get off the bus. Every bus has an iBeacon transmitter the application uses to identify the bus the user is currently in.

WHEN YOU ARE A TOURIST IN HELSINKI

How could we make it easier for the tourists to travel in Helsinki using public transport?

When using STOP 2.0 tourists spend less time deciphering timetables and more time sightseeing, since getting off at the right stop is guaranteed.

The tourists can ask for the right bus at the right place to stop and pick them up. They can also ask the application to notify them when they are supposed to get off.
